Mr. Melton is a highly talented attorney who know his job the best. He was always readily approachable and responded quickly, even after hours or on weekends. The costs were much reasonable and affordable (whereas I've experienced other attorneys who will email you back and forth 10 times a day, and for each 1 sentence email, they'll charge you 25-50$ each). He is upfront and honest and would not give you false hopes, but neither would he scare you to take advantage of your situation or overcharge you. I have had experience with more than a dozen attorneys over last 10 years and have never met a person more professional, caring and dedicated to his clients than him. Mr. Melton: You are the best. I am a 4th habitual drug offense offender from the west side of Michigan and have been out of the Saginaw area for over three years. Recently I was accused of a very serious crime here in Saginaw that I did not commit and I had no idea where to turn or what to do. My family contacted Mr. Melton who from the very start, made me feel like a human being and listened to my side of the story. Mr.Melton is the second lawyer I had hired to represent me in the DUI case that has finally ended after 4.5 years.I am discouraged that I spent well over two years with the previous lawyer,who basically got me no where. I first hired Mr. Melton to represent me for violations that were noted on my Interlock device which I did not commit, they were violations from the malfunction of the device not anything I did wrong or tampered with.I notified him as soon as I received the letter from SOS ,which only gave me a few days to take action starting at the circuit court for a stay (which stops any action on my restricted license until a hearing at the Michigan SOS) and request a hearing with SOS before my restriction was revoked. Mr. Melton reacted immediately and took me on as a client without question,within 24 hours he was at the circuit court and got the stay granted on my restriction,which allowed me time to request a hearing at SOS. Mr.Melton is well prepared,extremely knowledgeable and confident.That hearing went well the violations were dropped and I continued my restricted driving as indicated.I kept in touch with him then hired Mr. Melton to represent me in the case for my full license reinstatement hearing with the Michigan SOS hearing officer which was up coming(this would be my third time for this hearing and I had also been twice to the circuit court with the previous representation with no result)Once again Mr. Melton was well prepared,I work out of state all year round,and he worked very well with me and my situation he was very accommodating.Mr.Melton let me know well in advance on how to get paperwork prepared and submitted in proper time and sequence. (dated paperwork and time line for submission to Michigan SOS can be tricky) I was pretty unsure of what the out come of my hearing would be since I had been thru this multiple times at this point and had been told every time that every thing should go well,which ended up not being the case.At this last hearing with Mr.Melton I did get my full license privilege reinstated. In conclusion my experience working with Mr.Melton was great he was easy to contact by e-mail or phone and if necessary to leave a message I did receive a call back every time in that same day, I had several questions all the time since work out of state year round, I was in phone or email contact with him often communication and information was never an issue. I was being charged with 6 different probation violations for some pretty petty stuff. An issue with my living address and an incident I wasnt even involved in. I even had a witness willing to testify on my behalf. My probation agent unsuprisingly took it to the Judge anyway. So I got online and found John Melton. He returned my call the same day to consult my case. After explaining to him the circumstances of my charges, He offered to represent Me and wasn't going to charge me an arm and a leg to do it. Anytime I needed to speak with Him He called even if He was busy. He didnt make any guarantees which was fine by Me because you cant guarantee anything in that situation, But He told me He would do what He could to get my charges dismissed and He did. I endorse him without reservation, here is why: My beautiful daughter who has lived in Bay City, Michigan for 18 years was arrested for felony drunk driving 2nd offense in a period of (2) months in mid-February 2018. She passed both breathalyzer tests but failed the blood tests due to the court finding of Adderall and a vitamin in her system. The drug Adderall was prescribed by her physician for ADHD. Adderall is prescribed for over 25 million men, woman, and children in the US for [Attention Deficit]. The vitamin purchased at a health-food store in Bay City to prevent drowsiness. My daughter was confined to the Bay City jail under a $150,000 bond and up to {5} years in prison. The first attorney I hired turned out to be totally incapable. and had a drinking problem. I hired John Melton in mid-April of this year, my daughter is now scheduled for release the first week in June 2018 as time served; case closed. John has a more than excellent working knowledge of the law and is respected by both prosecutors and judges. Also, his fees are quite reasonable, his staff most capable, and he quite readily handles his phone calls. I retired to Las Vegas several years ago, moving from California. John went above and beyond our expectations. We had so much fear and we were probably facing prison time. Up to 10 years. That charge, along with two others, only ended up being 110 days in jail for my fiance. Really couldn't have asked for it to go any better. Can't recommend John highly enough. He really cares... I hired John to represent my step daughter. His price was more than fair and we got better results than we hoped for. She was charged with a misdemeanor and a 5 year felony. Drunk and disorderly assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. John got the charges reduced to a misdemeanor no jail time 6 months probation with a no contest plea. He got them to drop the assault on a police officer to a simple public intoxication. John guided us thru the process and my step daughter is doing well and able to get on with her life. Mr Melton represented me at the Secretary of State for an Appeal Hearing. Mr Melton was very professional and indeed had prepared me for the requirements and questions from the hearing officer. I hired John to help me get a speeding ticket reduced. Because the incident occurred in Tuscola County (the only county in MI to require the ticketed person to appear in court, despite having hired an attorney to represent them), I was also hoping he would get the court to make an exception on my behalf, as I live about 2 hours away from the courthouse and didn't want to request any time off work to deal with this. Initially we hired a larger firm who said they would work very hard for my brother. But without even meeting my brother, they wanted him to plead guilty to a felony he did not commit. In addition, they failed to schedule an arraignment in a timely manner, resulting in my brother being arrested. With one day notice, Mr. Melton was at the arraignment and arranged personal bail. Ultimately, Mr. Melton was able to get a felony charge reduced to a misdemeanor. Perhaps more important for us, Mr. Melton always believed in my brother.
